HUSD and the HDAOR (High Desert Association of Realtors) are committed to stopping youth substance abuse. The HDAOR "How to recognize-prevent substance abuse" meetings are aimed at helping parents help children deal with peer pressure, detect substance abuse problems, and/or determine appropriate intervention steps. The HDAOR will host a series of free workshops dedicated to helping those who have not become involved in drug or alcohol use to avoid doing so and encourage those who are struggling with addiction to get the help that they need. Inclement Weather Dismissal
In anticipation of the rain continuing through dismissal today, just a reminder that the inclement weather dismissal process is very similar to regular dismissal.
DRIVE UP: Students will be in the building. Stay in your car and continue to pull all the way forward. It is VERY HELPFUL if you have a sign in your front windshield with your child's name and grade level so that we can easily radio for your child to come out to your car.
WALK UP: Students will be in the cafeteria. Parents will enter through the cafeteria doors near the walk-up gate to pick up students.
WALKER: Students will continue to exit the walker gate and will walk to the crosswalk or dirt lot behind the school.

Krystal's Trunk or Treat is tonight!
Come anytime between 4:30-6:30. We will have candy, food trucks and raffle baskets! This event is open to Krystal families only, please remember to bring your Trunk or Treat pass. The entrance to the event will be through the large gate on the east side of the kinder playground.

Brightly-colored fentanyl (referred to as rainbow fentanyl) has been identified as a new trend according to the United States (U.S.) Drug Enforcement Agency
(DEA). Rainbow fentanyl can be found in many forms, including pills, powder, and blocks that can resemble sidewalk chalk or candy. Any pill (regardless of its color, shape, or size) that does not come from a health care provider or pharmacist can contain fentanyl and can be deadly. **Krystal Raffle Baskets**
Purchase your raffle basket tickets before or after school all week (Tue-Fri)! Tickets will also be available at our Trunk or Treat event on Friday, 10/21. Families may purchase tickets and view baskets in our library (door is near the kindergarten playground). Please remember to use the side crosswalk during arrival and dismissal when coming to view the raffle baskets.
We are looking for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to join Krystal’s VEX IQ Robotics team! View the flier linked below for information on how to TRY OUT for the team. All interested students will need to submit a short video and attend a 1 day camp.

Minimum Days
Krystal Tk-6th grade students will dismiss at 1:20 on Tuesday, September 27th- Friday, September 30th to allow for parent conferences. Please contact your child's teacher if you have not yet scheduled a conference.
Did you know that for the 2022-2023 school year, ALL enrolled students will receive FREE Breakfast and Lunch? However an Income Form is still needed, it helps Krystal receive the full educational funding it deserves! All information is kept confidential and is not shared. The information will NOT be used to determine your child's eligibility since meals will be free to all students regardless of income. Please take a minute to fill out the form if you have not done so. If you prefer a paper copy please let the front office know. Thanks for your help!
