HUSD Emergency Preparedness Leadership Team Illness Prevention Tips

In accordance with the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health the Hesperia Unified School District Emergency Preparedness Leadership Team Illness Prevention Tips for parents and students are:
Wash hands with soap and water frequently.
Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Consult with your doctor regarding other preventive measures.
In accordance with the California Department of Public Health the Hesperia Unified School District Emergency Preparedness Leadership Team Illness Prevention Tips for schools are:
Encourage families to keep sick students home until fever-free for 24 hours.
Encourage students/parents/staff to wash hands frequently. Note: Washing hands with soap and water is more effective than using hand sanitizer.
Encourage students/parents/staff to cover coughs with a sleeve or tissue.
Ensure classrooms have ample tissues within easy reach, as well as no-touch trash cans.
Encourage teachers/custodians to routinely clean frequently touched surfaces.
Separate sick students and staff from others until they can go home.
Encourage students/parents/staff to consult with their doctor regarding other preventive measures.
