Road Construction – Topaz Preparatory Academy

Lane Closures planned for Live Oak Street

When: 2/12/18 – 2/26/18

Where: Live Oak Street between Eleventh Avenue and Datura Road

Why: Engineering contractors will be replacing water lines on Live Oak Street

This construction project will have a major impact on Topaz Preparatory Academy students. There will be no access to pick up or drop off students on the north side of the school (Live Oak Street). All students will need to come through the primary drive-up area, in the bus circle, on the south-east corner of the school.

Delays are to be expected, so please plan accordingly as drop off and pick up times may take longer than usual.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation.

By-Trustee Area Election System

As part of the transition to a by-trustee area election system by the Hesperia Unified School District, the District’s Governing Board has held public hearings to receive community comments and public testimony concerning the composition of potential trustee voting areas associated with the District’s transition to a by-trustee area election system.  At our December 11, 2017, Governing Board meeting, the Board selected the map entitled Scenario 4A (PDF).

Pending County and State approval, the By-Trustee area election method will replace the current at-large voting process in November 2018.

HUSD’s Nutrition Services received the Summer Sunshine Award

HUSD’s Nutrition Services received the Summer Sunshine Award from the United States Department of Agriculture for “Providing Innovative and Impactful Enrichment Activities.” HUSD is the first district in San Bernardino County to receive this award. The Summer Sunshine Awards recognize sponsors who operate exemplary summer meals programs.

We especially appreciate the partnership with Hesperia Recreation and Park District to make this award possible through the use of Lime Street Park. Ms. Marshawn Etchepare, an Admin Operations Manager, received this award on behalf of the Hesperia Recreation & Park District with Christina Paxton, SBCSS Nutrition Educator, and Robin Ronkes, San Bernardino County Public Health Nutritionist.

Great partnerships such as this allow us to provide services to our community.Board with Presenter
